I met Kelly Elle Kenworthy in 2013, when she was just two years into what would become an institution in Boulder, Colorado: Little Yoga Studio. Nestled in a busy urban center, LYS was only "little" in name. When you opened the studio door, you entered a large, beautiful space where community members from all backgrounds and generations practiced together. Best part: it offered the least expensive drop-ins available in the West. Kelly Elle's dedication to keeping the studio affordable was a key part of her ethos and model. Even through the pandemic, she was able to maintain it.
Then it was time to build back. In 2023, we reconnected to distill the new vision for The Little. Starting with the recognition that it is one of the only independent studios in Boulder—and the longest-running—we identified its true identity: a yoga school. Specific lineages are taught by a strong roster of teachers, some of whom hold PhDs in their areas of study.
After refining the studio school's vision and mission, we set out to create a visual identity that honored its roots. We brought in a vintage-inspired aesthetic that resonated with Kelly's background and chose an earthy tone palette to complement, rather than replace, the original colors. Then we built a video-driven website on the new Wix Studio platform, which provides a beautiful client experience and ease on the backend for Kelly.
And it wasn't just about Kelly and me. It was also about her teachers, her students -- the community of LYS who would be interfacing and communicating in a whole new way. So we set up collaborative inquiry through questionnaires, meetings, and creative opportunities amongst the community. Everyone was involved.
The result is a cohesive online presence, supported by marketing practices designed to build over time.
Client update: About six months after launch, Kelly has also launched her own practice. As a licensed therapist, she now offers a beautiful hybrid experience that integrates therapy, mentorship, and embodied practice. The studio continues to evolve, and is now going virtual.
